Karte Seh Medical Hospital Kabul
Dr Simon oversaw the reconstruction of this 75 bed facility designed to serve up to 500,000 of the underprivileged Hazari population in Kabul, Afghanistan. As the medical director, he installed a comprehensive administrative and facilities management team. Within this same complex, this multiple award-winning management team went on to deliver the Karte Seh Maternity hospital, with 40 beds and five neonatal intensive care units. Dr Simon negotiated a joint management contract with USAID and UNICEF for this facility. These two capital projects helped to fundamentally transform the healthcare and life expectancy of the Hazari population.
